You will work on the development of computer based methods to predict the impact of novel steam transfer pipe systems on the thermodynamic efficiency of power stations. You will liaise with other members of the project team who will be working on an assessment of the structural integrity of the pipe systems based at Cranfield University and the University of Nottingham.

You will have at least a first degree and preferably a PhD in Engineering (or closely related discipline) and have good understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer as well as experience of programming.

Based in the Solid Mechanics research group http://www.bristol.ac.uk/engineering/research/solids at the University of Bristol this is a great opportunity to take a key role in an EPSRC funded feasibility project on use of novel high temperature steam transfer pipes in fossil fuel and nuclear power stations.

This position is offered on a full time fixed term basis with funding for up to 6 months.

It is anticipated that interviews will take place in September.
